the whole idea of converting video (or anything else) doesn't fit the purpose of wcx plugins - they're supposed to read archive contents and create/update archives.
and if we get past the fact that it doesn't fit the purpose and the fact that the conversions can last for hours, there is still one more problem - when converting stuff, you usually want to set some options (or at least glance through them), not go blindly.
----------
that being said, plugins for video containers are a good idea. for example, we could use a plugin that could show us the files inside the mkv or mp4 container and let us copy video/audio/subtitles/fonts outside. if you had plugins for two containers, you might make a conversion through repacking (only in theory, in practice that requires the second one to support input framerate, codec and few more stuff).
just forget the whole idea, download mediacoder (let its installer download ffmpeg) and transcode whatever ways... |
