"Maximum (enhanced deflate)" was introduced in WinZip® 9.0. "Maximum (bzip2)" and "Maximum (PPMd)" were introduced in WinZip 10.0. These methods provide greater compression for many files, but prior WinZip versions will not be able to extract files compressed with these methods. "Maximum (enhanced deflate)" compression requires WinZip version 8.1 or later to extract files, "Maximum (bzip2)" compression requires WinZip 9.0 or later to extract files, and "Maximum (PPMd)" compression requires WinZip 10.0 or later to extract files. These compression methods also may not be compatible with some other Zip file utilities.
