Screen 1. TU main window on Windows 7. All descriptions for categories are visible, I can hide the content of categories.
Screen 2. Same window on Windows XP. I CAN NOT see descriptions and hide categories at all.
Is it intentional behavior or bug?
(BTW, my main OS is WinXP yet, as result some strings for descriptions are too long on Win7 in my current translation. It is fixed now.)

Поясняю ситуацию. В новейших ОС окно TU отображается правильно: для всех категорий видны описания, содержимое категорий можно скрывать, оставив лишь заголовки. В XP нет ни описаний категорий, ни возможности их скрытия.
(Поскольку предыдущие версии языкового файла проверялись на XP, не было вовремя замечено, что некоторые описания слишком длинные, больше одной строки. Сейчас размер описаний оптимизирован.)

У меня Win 7. При дефолтной ширине окна (минимальной), если скрыть содержимое категорий, то вторая строка описания наезжает на заголовок следующей категории.
А также надпись правее вкладок заезжает за последнюю вкладку. В ангоязычном интерфейсе, т.к. там надписи короче, такого нет.
Ну это так, не претензия даже, замечание. Тем более, что ширина окна вроде запоминается и её можно увеличить. Скриншот англоязычный

А вот глюк какой-то: после того как я поскрывал/раскрывал содержимое категорий? У меня вторая строка описаний вообще спряталась:

Нет, видимо показалось, переустановил сабж - второй строки в таком режиме не видно.
Может попросить автора, чтоб выделил место под вторую строку?
Хотя не принципиально, можно окно расширить.

Я же ясно вроде бы написал, что все описания теперь будут ограничиваться одной строкой. (Даже при ширине по умолчанию.) Исправленный LNG — всё по той же ссылке.
К текстом правее вкладок: у меня там на XP места без всякого изменения ширины достаточно, всё влезает. А на Win7 (из-за недавнего изменения в TU шрифта) уже не влезало, надо было ширину увеличивать. Решил проблему с умолчальным окном изменением одного заголовка.
Между прочим, если кто-то на Vista и выше обнаруживает подобные проблемы, когда что-то куда-то не вписывается (особенно теперь, после изменения шрифта) — сообщайте, я сам не всё могу быстро проверить.
P.S. Ненужные детали из предудущего поста убрал.

2. tcmatch64.exe from QuickSearc eXtended package is shown as "Unknown", tcmatch.exe — nо problem.
3. Button Bar Editor.exe from Ultra TC Editors package is described as "Ultra TC Editors" instead of "Ultra TC Editors (Button Bar Editor)".

0.8.1 (Stable) не работает с системными переменными, у всех так?
С такими путями database.dat, например, скачиваются, но не копируется в папку Total Updater. |

Да, есть такое дело. Кроме того, при запуске утилиты из TC она должна бы правильно обрабатывать и переменные TC.

I'm using the standard ListView Windows component to display the list of plugins - unfortunately it only supports headers & subtitles from Vista and above (msdn).
Currently I don't plan to change this feature, I think its not a big deal to not have collapsible categories & subtitles under XP (which is now an obsolete OS, even though still used by many).
Thanks for fixing the language file! I'm going to publish the new version today which already includes it (I fixed the recognization of tcmatch64.exe too by adding a new entry to the DB, thx for reporting the problem).
About the "Button Bar Editor" related thing: I'll try to find a way to handle these cases as correctly as possible. The only problem is I can't know which executable is the main one of a given package - the ProductName field is not always filled, so I can't rely on it e.g. to compare filename and ProductName, and keep the name unchanged if they are same...  So currently all TU does is that puts a bracket with the filename of the current item in case multiple items exists with the same online package name.

This package hasn't main executable file, the status of all editors is equal. Ultra TC Editors.exe just is the facultative integrator for some fans.

Hmm...The result is strange. EXE files for QuiclSearch eXtended (tcmatch.exe and tcmatch64.exe) has the same file version 1.1.11.02. However tcmatch.exe shows as 2.2.3, but tcmatch64.exe still shows as 1.1.11.2 in 'updatable' status. It isn't true.
About some unknown plugins. I can add FNUL by VadiMGP (direct link) and NoDirQuickView by Lefteous (direct link).

Ah, thats because one of the recent additions:

... which means from 0.8 B2 i read its version number from the PE file (tcmatch.exe) using a little trick: as its StringFileInfo section is left at an initial value 1.1.11.02, I need to check its RCDATA/1033 section, in which the first line contains the actual, correct version number.
Added code to read this info from tcmatch64.exe as well & included the above plugins too, thx.
A silent update just took place (rev2) - please redownload it in order to fix the problems above. |

The following plugins/addons are added into [OverridePlugVer] section automatically: FileDateTime.wdx, FileDateTime.wdx64, ImgSize.wdx, ImgSize64.wdx, UnicodeTest.wdx64, Plugman.exe
Is it intentional? If yes, why?
The calendar.wfx plugin by Fabio Chelli is shown as 'updatable' to 12.11.2003 version. I have the file calendar.wfx with date 17.03.03 and size 214528 b. AFAIK, it is last version of this plugin (1.02). The author's link is dead now, see here.
The addition for your list: TotalMouseEx.

Толковая вещь, но с другой стороны - на форуме сотни скриптов (в том числе и более навороченных), так что или все тогда добавлять или же сосредоточиться на плагинах и программах. Иначе несправедливо как-то получается.

Де-факто это не скрипт (их в натуральном виде я предлагать не собираюсь), а скриптовая утилита. Дело автора — какую точку зрения тут принять. Я предлагаю, но ни на чём не настаиваю.

Absolutely, I'm a Hungarian developer to the core.  Nice question though, I'll tell as its not a secret: my avatar is chosen because of my 10+ year enthusiasm for an Italian producer/dj who uses this exact Japanese character/symbol for all his work (not gonna tell who he is - wonder if anyone really cares hah). ^.^

It is absolutely intentional - some items automatically being inserted into the "[OverridePlugVer]" section in case their online date (upload date) matches the latest modification date of the local file, so their version gets "corrected" and automatically rewritten by TU to its ini file.
(only in case "VerCorrOnDateMatch=True" in TotalUpdater.ini)
For example lets check that mentioned "Plugman.exe" addon:
| Code: | VerCorrOnDateMatch=False Plugman.exe 2.0.0.0 2.2.8 OK. (shows OK because of the matching package date -> they are the same one)
VerCorrOnDateMatch=True Plugman.exe 2.2.8 2.2.8 OK. (shows the corrected version number too [based on the date comparement]) |
Needless to say these values only get saved because that way TU won't need another online check & comparement to get their real version, it can load them directly from its ini file - of course only in case the given file still matches the previously calculated checksum value.
Added the correct checksum entry for calendar.wfx & the other one too.

Я тоже не настаиваю, просто предложил равенство для всех.
Это не скриптовая утилита, а скомпилированный скрипт. Точно так же можно скомпилировать и остальные ahk/au3 скрипты; а также vbs (js наверное тоже).
